Krystena Marie Nelson was born June 20, 1958 at Dexter, Iowa to Robert Dean and Myrna Bernice Cass Nelson. To all who knew her, she was known as “Tena” and was known as a kind and loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. She was always willing to do what she could to help. She died in an automobile accident on August 14, 1973, at the age of fifteen years, one month, and twenty-four days.

Tena is survived by her parents; brothers, Kim and Andrew, sisters, Debra and Alveda; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nelson of Dexter, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cass of Fontanelle; aunts, uncles, and cousins, plus many friends.

Funeral services for Tena was held Friday, August 17, at 1:30 p.m., at the Link Funeral Home in Stuart with interment at Dexter Cemetery. Rev. Michael Biklen officiated. Music was provided by Robert Lawson. Flower ladies were Mrs. Doyle Colbert and Mrs. John Gomez. Casket bearers were Mike Hartman, Greg Hartman, Tom Moore, Jim Waltz, Bill Dickey, and John Murphy.
