Donald Eugene, son of Roscoe C. and Bertha Opal Bullock Scott, was born September 17, 1919 in Arispe, Iowa in Union County and passed away December 1, 1977 at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

He attended school at Shannon City, Iowa. On June 14, 1948 he was united in marriage to Belva Draman at the Methodist Church. Two children were born to this union.

As a member of the Dexter Methodist Church, Don had been serving as vice president of the board and was also past president of the church board.

Most of his life was spent in the Dexter community. He was employed at Oscar Mayer Port Plant at Perry, Iowa. Don was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Field Artillery.

Being such an active and concerned citizen, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him in the Dexter Community Club, the American Legion and Dexfield Booster Club.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Belva, and children, Roscoe Don and Rhonda Diane at home; three brothers Calvin and Bernard of Dexter, and Bobby of Stuart; three sisters, Mrs. John (Bernita) Roberts of Hartford, Mrs. Francis (Juanita) Bebout of Woodward, and Mrs. Tom (Velma) Owens of Polk City, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted December 5, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter with Rev. Robert Farr and Rev. George Thurman officiating. Vocal selections were sung by Robert Lawson, accompanied on the organ by Miss Debbie Sanborn. Floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. Edith Algreen and Mrs. Helen Evans. Honorary pallbearers included Jasper Lenocker, Ray Lenocker, Mervyn Armstrong and Gene Martin. Casket bearers were: Charles Arnburg, Joe Smith, Frank Wagers, Paul Jones, Gary Feurbach, and Richard Strittmatter. Interment was in the Dexter Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Post of Dexter, Iowa.
