Dexter—A funeral for T. G. (Dale) King, 55, of Dexter was held Dec. 26, 1990 at the First Presbyterian Church at Dexter. Mr. King died of a staph infection at Veteran’s Administration Medical Center at Des Moines. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.

The son of Alma and Ansel King, he was born Aug. 9, 1935 in Clay County, Tenn. He joined the United States Army in 1955, serving in the Korean Conflict until 1957. He married Doris Shaefer at Bethany, Mo. on Oct. 25, 1957. They lived in Colorado, where he worked as a cowboy and truck driver, until they moved to Dexter in 1970. He worked as a truck driver, laborer and security guard.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of Dexter; two daughters, Sherrill Lynne Ress of Stuart and Linda King of Waukee; a son, Dale Alan of Earlham; an adopted son, William (Joe) Goldman of Little Rock, Ark.; his mother, Alma King of Des Moines; three brothers, James, Marion and John, all of Des Moines; a sister, Linda Lindquist of Joplin, Mo.; and nine granddaughters.
