Dexter—A funeral for Wilma Mae Isenberg, 76, of Dexter was held Aug. 23, 1990 at the Dexter United Methodist Church. Mrs. Isenberg died of a stroke on Aug. 19 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center at Marshalltown. Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery.

The daughter of Henry A. and Jennie Belle Bigalk, she was born at Cresco on July 29, 1914. She was a 1934 graduate of Iowa State Teachers College. She married Harland Ray Isenberg on Aug. 7, 1940. She had lived at Dexter since 1947, and prior to that she lived at Primghar, Sheldon and Nevada.

She was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years. She was the local president of United Methodist Women and was district president of Women’s Society of Christian Service. She was the president of the local PEO chapter, and also had served as the Iowa Federated Women’s Club state recording secretary for four years and held other county and district offices in the organization.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.

Survivors include a son, Ken of Grinnell; a daughter, Ruth Hampton of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
