Earlham—A graveside service for Bessie M. DeVault, 98, of Earlham was held April 30, 1989 at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter. Mrs. DeVault died of heart and lung ailments on April 27 at Earlham Manor Care Center.

Mrs. DeVault was a lifelong Madison County resident, a homemaker and a life member of National United Presbyterian Women.

Survivors include two daughters, Merle DeVault of Moravia and Ruth Burch of Modesto, Calif.; a sister, Nettie Niblo of Winterset; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Earlham Manor activity fund or the Pitzer United Presbyterian Church, of which she was also a member.
