Dexter—A funeral for Maryon Sorensen Hadley, 78, of Stuart was held May 1, 1989 at McKee Funeral Home here. She died April 27 at the Community Care Center at Stuart. Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery.

The daughter of S. Alfred and Maude Burlows Sorensen, she was born in Cedar Falls on May 26, 1912. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Iowa State Teachers College of Cedar Falls in August, 1938, and her teaching career brought her to Dexter in 1945. She married Lloyd R. Hadley on June 1, 1949, and they made their home in Dexter. She continued her teaching career and in 1970 received her master’s degree of music education from Drake University at Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her brother, Al B. Sorensen of Cedar Rapids, and a sister-in-law, Fern L. Marsh of Dexter.
