William Albert Gibson, 87, of Dexter, died of a heart ailment Monday, Oct. 29, 2001 at home. Services were held Nov. 1 at Dexter United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.

William Gibson was born in Rinard and had lived there and in Irwin and Atlantic before moving to Dexter in 1939. He was the retired owner of Dexter Lumber Co., an Army veteran and a member of Masonic Lodge, Odd Fellows Lodge and his church’s administrative council.

He is survived by his wife, Inez; two sons Larry of West Des Moines and Lonny of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Gloria Woodson of Stuart; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Kuhn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
