Dexter—A funeral for Anna Louise Compton Fritz, 90, of Sandford, N.C. and formerly of Dexter was held May 7, 1991 at McKee Funeral Home at Dexter. Mrs. Fritz died of a heart condition on May 3 at the Convalescent Center at Sandford. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.

The daughter of Elmer Marion and Alma Jane Mendenhall Compton, she was born in Dallas County on April 16, 1901. She graduated from Dexter High School and the Iowa Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at both the Dexter Clinic and the Dallas County Hospital at Perry. She moved to Sun City, Ariz. from Dexter in 1970, and has spent the last few years at Sandford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arlie Fritz, who died in 1978.

Survivors include a son, C. Wayne Fritz of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Barbara Tuttle of Sanford; a brother, Ivan Compton of Des Moines; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
