Dexter—A funeral for Dortha E. Compton, 88, of Stuart was held May 9, 1991 at the United Presbyterian Church at Dexter. Mrs. Compton died on May 7 at the Community Care center at Stuart. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.

The daughter of Charles D. and Elizabeth Moore Barr, she was born in Madison County on May 16, 1902. She married Lester E. Compton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on Oct. 30, 1926. She had lived in the Dexter, Redfield and Stuart areas all of her life and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dexter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; by a sister, Inez; and by four brothers, Lee, Mel, Earl and Ray.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.
