Dexter—A funeral service for Ralph Leroy Blaylock, 93, of Perry were held Oct. 27, 1993 at United Methodist Church at Dexter, with burial following at Dexter Cemetery. Mr. Blaylock died of a heart condition on Oct. 25 at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home at Perry.

The son of Leo A. and Etta M. Blaylock, he was born Dec. 12, 1899 near South English. After graduating from high school in 1918 he attended Coe College at Cedar Rapids and Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. On April 24, 1922 he and Marjorie Eshelman were married at Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Blaylock joined Cities Service Oil Company and worked for them until he retired in 1965, holding the positions of accountant, auditor, territory supervisor and office manager. He and his wife came to Dexter in 1968 and spent much of their retirement traveling in the United States and Canada.

Mr. Blaylock was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church and was a Past Master of Mount Tabor Masonic Lodge #293 of Dexter.

He was preceded in death by his wife; by his parents; and by an infant brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Trushcheff of Boone and Mary Eshelman of Dexter; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
