Dexter—A funeral for Duane Thomas Barr, 73, of Dexter was held Jan. 30, 1986 at the United Methodist Church here. Mr. Barr died Jan. 27 at the Guthrie County Hospital at Guthrie Center.

Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.

The son of Dewey Melvin and Myrtle Thomas Barr, he was born near Dexter on Dec. 23, 1912. He was a graduate of Dexter High School and worked on the farm before entering the U.S. Army and serving with the 5th Combat Cargo Squadron during World War II. After returning from the service, he started farming with his father and remained on the farm until his death. He was a, 30 year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a sister, Helen Hibbs of Earlham, and two brothers, Charles Hoyt of Redfield, and Phoenix, Ariz, Ralph Max of Lead Hill, Ark.
