Earlham—A funeral for Marguerite S. Atherton, 98, of Earlham was held Feb. 15, 1987 at the Presbyterian Church at Dexter. Mrs. Atherton died of a heart attack Feb. 13 at Earlham Manor Care Center.

Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery.

Born at Streator, Ill. on Aug. 12, 1888, she was the daughter of Hector and Jeanette Stewart. She married Claude L. Atherton at Morris, Ill. on Dec. 24, 1907. She lived at Dexter all of her married life. She was a member of the Dexter Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two daughters, Claudia Lee Atherton of Madrid and Valory Jean Eaton of Indianola; a son, Allen Dale Atherton of Dexter; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
