Redfield—A funeral for Evelyn Bales, 68, of Redfield was held March 30, 1988 at Fisher Funeral Home here. Mrs. Bales died of cancer on March 27 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at Des Moines. Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.

The daughter of Walter and Faye Lawrence, she was born Nov. 29, 1919 at Lohrville. She married Edwin Bales on April 17, 1937 at Fremont, Neb. She had lived in Redfield for 40 years, and lived at Lohrville prior to that. She was a homemaker and a member of the Redfield United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a brother and a sister.

Mrs. Bales is survived by her husband, Edwin, of Redfield.
