Dorr L. Davis, 90, of Dexter, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Services were held Saturday, Nov. 26 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter, of which he was a member.

He was born in Wiscotta and lived most of his life in Dexter. He worked for many years as a mechanic with Iowa Machinery and was a U.S. Army staff sergeant in World War II. He loved animals, spending time with his family, and fixing anything that came his way. He was a member of the American Legion Post 419.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Pat.

He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Beane Davis; a son, Tom Davis of Stuart; a daughter, Helen Forshier of Dexter; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Brooks Funeral Care in Des Moines was in charge of arrangements.
