A funeral for Everett (Pete) Algreen, 94, of Earlham was held Jan. 6, 1994 at the Zion Lutheran Church at Dexter, with burial following at Dexter Cemetery. Mr. Algreen died of influenza on Jan. 4 at Earlham Care Center, where he had resided for six years.

The son on Peter and Lillie Moyer Algreen, he was born at Fontanelle on Dec. 28, 1899. He married Freda Jensen on March 25, 1925. She preceded him in death, and in November 1958, he married Lenore Buchanan. He moved to Earlham in 1944 after spending 30 years in Dexter. He was a retired farmer and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his first wife, Freda, and by his second wife, Lenore; by two sisters; and by three brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen Hester of Earlham; a son, Billy Algreen; two brothers, Vern Algreen and Keith Algreen, both of Winterset; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
