Dexter & Earlham, IowaMaxine G. Jobst was born in Dallas County, Iowa to Amelia R. and Bryan D. Struble October 26th, 1925 and passed away January 14th, 1995 at Methodist Cardiac Care Unit. She graduated Valedictorian of Adel Class of 1943. She left immediately after graduation for Washington D.C. to work for the FBI where she met her first husband Robert Blust, an Army Sergeant stationed at Fort Belvoir. They were married November 24, 1944 and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio after World War II. They were blessed with two children Kenny and Donna.
After the death of her husband, Maxine and her children returned to Adel, where she worked as the head bookkeeper at Brenton State Bank. She met and married Harold Jobst on August 20, 1954 and became mother to Wilma, Bonnie, Peggy & Dwayne. To this union were born Amy, Roger & Wendy. Maxine was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, American Legion Auxiliary. She retired from Greyhound in 1990. Maxine spent many years serving the community. She was a loving wife and mother to nine children, 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Harold, sons Kenny of Des Moines, Dwayne of Sheffield, Ohio, Roger of Royal, Iowa, daughters: Wilma Wacht of San Diego, Ca., Donna Wollenberg, Annandale, Va., Bonnie Jerke, Sioux Falls, S.D., Peggy Pittenger, S. Bound Brook, N.J., Amy Hare, Cumming, Georgia, Wendy Sheeder, Greenfield, Iowa; a brother Lee Struble, Adel, Ia., several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Burial was made in the Dexter Cemetery.
