Dexter & Earlham, IowaBruce Miller, son of Evelyn Youngquist and Roy Ray Miller was born April 3, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was greeted by an older sister, Barb. Bruce lived in West Des Moines while attending Valley High School.
On March 7, 1959, he was married to Beulah (Bea) Henderson. This union was blessed with three sons: Bruce, Jr., Bryce, and Brian.
Bruce entered the U.S. Army on October 1961 and was stationed in Fort Rucker, Alabama. Less than a year later, he was sent to Korea. Bruce worked for Delavan Manufacturing for 16 years. His present career was as a carpenter for the U.S. Postal Service in Des Moines where he was employed for 16 years.
Bruce loved to go fishing with his family and friends. He liked to play cribbage on break with his friends at the Post Office. Bruce enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of both the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. He attended Iowa’s last Rose Bowl game in California with his sons. The family saw it’s first Viking’s game in Minneapolis last fall. Bruce and Bea also took a cruise for their 35th wedding anniversary in March.
Bruce fulfilled many of his goals in life with a great sense of humor and determination.
Burial was in Panther Creek Cemetery, rural Dallas County, Iowa.
