Dexter, IowaEmma Katherine Richards, daughter of Frederick and Emma Herpolsheimer Haase, was born September 13, 1892 near Lincoln, Nebraska. She passed away May 9, 1979 at the Greene County Hospital in Jefferson, Iowa.
On June 8, 1917, Emma was united in marriage to Earl Richards in Lincoln, Nebraska. Five sons blessed this union.
In 1942 Emma moved to the rural Redfield area where she lived with sons Willys and Homer until the time of her death.
She became a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter in 1942.
Survivors include her five sons, Kenneth and his wife Shirley of Waterberry, Connecticut, Willys and Homer of Redfield, Russell and his wife Joan of Peru, Iowa, and Dale and his wife Juanita of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Frances Davis of Paris, Texas and Mrs. Leona Burgess of Long Beach. California and on brother, Walter Haase of Denton, Nebraska.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and husband.
Burial was made in the Dexter Cemetery.
