Mrs. John Hill of Martensdale passed away at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 67 years. She was ill only three days.

Mrs. Hill, formerly Laura Lenocker, was born in Dexter in the year 1892. She was married in Dexter February 18, 1914 to John Hill. They started housekeeping in Dexter, later they moved to Des Moines where they lived twenty years before moving to Martensdale.

Four sons and four daughters blessed this union. They are Mrs. Clara Prichard of Newton; Mrs. Mildred Johnson, Mrs. Betty Johnson and Miss Lura Hill, all of West Des Moines. The sons are Fred of La Mureda, Calif.; Neil, of San Diego, Calif.; Gene of West Des Moines and Wayne of Winterset.

Those who survive her are her eight children just mentioned and her husband John; her five sisters, Mrs. Guy Linn of Brooking, South Dakota, Mrs. Oliver Dalen of Redfield, Mrs. Joy Hammond, Mrs. James Rhoten and Arta Lenocker, all of Dexter; also 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday afternoon in the McLaren funeral home with interment in the Resthaven cemetery. Some of those from a distance who attended the funeral were Jack Winters of Brycelyn, Minn., Clarence Gullard of Rake, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Scott, all of Dexter.
