George A. Blohm, son of the late George A. Blohm was born in Dexter November 18th, 1890 and passed away in his home in Adel May 12th, 1956 of a heart attack. He attended the Dexter school and served in World War I. Later he was graduated from the school of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State College in 1924. He was united in marriage to Mona Alber in 1921. He was connected with the Sioux Falls Serum Company for a number of years after which he operated a small animal hospital in Des Moines. He retired in 1947. Besides his wife, survivors are four sisters and five brothers, an uncle P. M. Ohrt, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Evans Funeral Home in Dexter under the direction of Rev. Robert Holloway. Music was played by Mrs. John Shepherd who played, “The Old Rugged Cross.” Casketbearers were: William Blohm, Jr., Jim Marsh, Lawrence Cox, John Shepherd, Warren Neal, and Jack Alber. Interment was in the Chapel Memory Garden Cemetery in Des Moines.
