Lawrence Iles, son of Richard and Julia Iles, was born in Dallas county, January 12, 1870 and passed away at his farm home, Adel, November 2, 1953 at the age of 83 years, nine months and 20 days.

While a boy, he attended the McKibben school.

Mr. Iles was engaged in farming his entire lifetime. He was born and raised on the farm where he lived at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; five sisters: Nancy Iles, Bertha Whitney, Jane Chapman, Laura Russell, Esther Sherman, and two brothers: John Mark Iles and Douglas Iles.

Survivors include one sister, Victoria, who lived at the Iles home with her brother, and several nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.

Services were held at the Iles home Wednesday, November 4, 1953 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. John L. Alexander, officiating.

Casket bearers were Roy Woolery, Roy Slater, Jim Wilkie, Bert Dunbar, Fred Prohaska and Vern Wilkie. Music was by Gertrude Conrad and Alma Mapes. Interment was in the Ellis cemetery near Adel.
