William Ross Moore, son of J. W. and Hannah Moore, was born July 9, 1871, in Boone county, Iowa, and died at Clarinda, January 30, 1955, at the age of 83 years, six months and 21 days.

He was the youngest of six children, all but one of which preceded him in death. He has one sister, Mrs. Clara Woods, of Santa Monica, California.

He was united in marriage to Essie Leeper on December 20, 1899. To this union were born three children: George of Hudson, Ohio; Mable of Highland Park, Illinois; and Harold of 29 Palm, California.

He became a member of the United Presbyterian church in Des Moines at the time he was attending Drake University. He was a great lover of music and sang in the choir in the United Presbyterian church at Pitzer. After his marriage he joined the Methodist church, and has been a member there since. He lived most of his life in the Dexter community.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Essie, their three children: George, Mable, and Harold; three grandsons, as well as many friends.
