Dixie Ulah Minnick, 91, died Sunday, May 15 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 at Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be in Pleasantville, IA at a later date.

Dixie was born in Pleasantville on May 4, 1920 to Franklin and Jessie (Lyon) Stubbs. She lived in Granger, IA for many years where she and her husband, William, owned a grocery store. Dixie also worked for 20 years in Human Resources for Allied Mutual Insurance. She moved to Norwalk ten years ago where she became an active member and volunteer for the Norwalk Christian Church.

Dixie and her family made many happy memories at their cabin in Spirit Lake. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes and Drake Bull Dogs.

Those left to cherish Dixie's memory include her two sons, Mark (Patricia) Minnick of Bettendorf, IA and Evan (Sandy) Minnick of Des Moines; brother, Glen Ardean (Marian) Stubbs of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Marci Minnick-Heard (Rick Heard) of Bettendorf, Brad Minnick of Bettendorf, Alex (Lindsay) Minnick of Brooklyn, NY and Noah Minnick of Chicago; and five great grandchildren, Derick and Dustin Saldivar, Dillon and Logan Minnick-Heard and Hazel Fraylack-Minnick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Minnick and sister, Ethel VanZee.
