Gregory, 52, passed away February 26 2013 at Taylor House in Des Moines. He was born June 13, 1960 in Booneville, IA to Fred and Betty Fitzgerald.

Greg was a natural athlete and a lover of all sports. He was dedicated to the East High School softball program, where he coached his girls and many others during the fall and spring seasons. He loved golfing with friends, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He also loved spending time at Lake Ponderosa and Clear Lake. He was a true competitor and we believe his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.

Greg is survived by his wife, Kristy; children, Lea, Allison and Samantha; mother, Betty; siblings, Gail Flanagan, LuAnn Harkins (Paul), Lori McNair (Dale), and Doug Fitzgerald.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred and brother-in-law, Mark Flanagan.

A memorial luncheon will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Booneville Church. A benefit for the family and a celebration of Greg's life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Walnut Center in the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
