Mrs. Martha A. England died at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 11 days, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sylvesta Mendenhall, 63rd Street, Valley Junction, Tuesday, April 14. Having been in ill health for four years, the deceased was stricken with paralysis nearly five months ago.

Martha A. Pritchard was born in Union County, Indiana, on September 3, 1852. At the age of six months, she was brought to Iowa by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pritchard.

She joined the Methodist Church at the age of 13, and was baptized in the Coon River at Valley Junction, from where she went by letter to the church at Earlham. Her membership at Earlham was continued until her death.

Martha Pritchard was married to Albert England in November 24, 1872, near Booneville. To this union were born seven children. Mrs. England was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Jessie May Jamison, September 10, 1903, at the age of 23, and a son, Henry England, February 21, 1931, at the age of 43. She is survived by her husband and five children.

The children are: Mrs. Sylvesta Mendenhall, Valley Junction; Mrs. Mary Arbuckle, Udell, Iowa; Mrs. Linnie Jamison, Estherville, Iowa; Mrs. Rachel Youtz, Valley Junction; and Ervin England, Earlham.

Her four sisters and brothers are living: Mrs. Mary Welch, Greenfield, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Douglas, Dexter, Iowa; Elias Pritchard, Winterset, Iowa; and H. A. Pritchard, Sumner, Nebr. Mrs. Martha England leaves 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Church of Christ at Valley Junction, and interment at the cemetery west of Valley Junction.
