Earlham Echo – Earlham, Iowa
March 7, 1929

Initials Coulter, son of J. F. and Mala--- Coulter was born May 18, 1870 at the Coulter homestead, three miles south of Redfield, where he grew to manhood. He departed this life on February 26, 1929 at his residence in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 8 days.

In April 1890 he was united in marriage with Della Harmon, of Earlham, Iowa. To them were born three children, Mrs. O. T. Anderson, of Seattle, Washington; a son Carl B. who passed on in infancy; and Jerry R. of Madison, Wisconsin, who resides with his parents. Besides the immediate family left to mourn the loss are two brothers and two sisters—Frank R. of Earlham, Charles L. of Dexter, Mrs. E. D. Kipping, of Redfield, and May Coulter of Des Moines, together with nephews and nieces.

The deceased became a member of the United Brethren Church at Pleasant Hill when a young man and has lived a good, worthy life, always counting it a privilege to give assistance and comfort to his fellowmen. He has been a faithful and earnest member of the Masonic Lodge for the past years from which affiliation he received much benefit and strength, being uplifted by its teaching.

His home for twenty-five years was at Sutherland, Iowa, and the past five years Madison, Wisconsin.

He has been in failing health for the past six months but was apparently improving and the passing on came suddenly and unexpectedly.

Funeral services were held at Bear Creek Monday afternoon, Mrs. Riddle in charge. Interment was at Panther Creek cemetery.
