Des MoinesGregory E. Newton passed away August 9, 2011 in Onawa, Iowa after a sudden illness.
A lifelong Des Moines resident Gregory served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1969 to 1972. Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly (Larry) Collins; grandchildren, Samantha Wolfe, Stewart Holloway Jr. and Sally Rose Collins; three brothers, Gerald K. Newton Jr., Doug Newton and Steve Newton; two sisters, Cindy Ciufo and LuRea Moon.
Graveside services for his cremains will be 2 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2011 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
