Lily Gertrude McKibben, oldest child of G. S. and Jennie McKibben, was born July 27, 1877. She lived with her parents at this place through life, being a faithful and obedient child; uniting with the church and in the house of the Lord in the year of ----- and thereafter being a faithful servant of Christ. In the year ----- she met with an accident on her way to church, thereafter being an invalid, but during those long years of suffering and pain she never once faltered in her belief and love for Christ—always a kind and patient sufferer, having been loved by all—her many friends attending her up until her death. She died at her home Jan. 7, 1900 at 4:00 p.m. aged 22 years, 5 months and 10 days. The funeral was held at the home at three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday. The remains were laid to rest in the McKibben cemetery.
