Catron, Arthur Henry – 1926–2010

Arthur Henry Catron, 84, passed away August 17, 2010. Memorial Services were held 7 p.m. Sunday, August 22 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial was at 11 a.m. Monday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Art was born in Caldwell, KS to Henry Hardy and Jessie Faye Catron July 20, 1926. He served proudly in the 43rd Infantry Division "Winged Victory Division" during WWII, from 1944 through 1946, including the landing at Luzon and the occupation of Tokyo, Japan. Art was a traveling salesman for Doeskin Paper and Concel Paper, Inc. He represented Omaha Bakers Supply in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota, and also worked for the House of Microwaves, Pace Membership Warehouse, Wal-Mart and NPI Security Systems. Art was a member of the Shriners and the Adel Masonic Lodge #80. He would have celebrated his 50th anniversary as a Mason this year.
Art is survived by his wife, Char of Winterset Care Center North; daughter, Shirley Cochran of Omaha, NE; son, Tom (Terry) Catron of Adel; son, Jerry Catron of Golden, CO; grandsons, Jeremy, Alex and Andy; granddaughter, Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Madison Reynes and Casey Roberto; siblings, Lawrence Catron of Springfield, IL, Arlyce Fromm of Rochester, IL, Carlos Catron of Springfield, IL, Velma Johnson of Fort Lee, FL and Lee Cook of Kalispell, MT.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly; sister, Phyllis, and grandson, Casey Everett.
