Mary Boatwright, 72, died December 16, 2010 at her home. Mary was born October 11, 1938 to Irene and Albert Davis in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was always willing to help others and had strong faith in God.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Walter; children, Betty (Tom) McGaffey, Barb Watkins, Matt (Beth) Renee) Boatwright and Kelly Boatwright; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie (Buster) Blackburn; sister-in-law, Jewel Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Davis.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
