William Wagner
William Wagner, 85, of Dallas Center, Iowa, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Memorial services were held Friday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center, with Brandt Funeral Home of Dallas Center handling arrangements.
William "Bill" Wagner was born in Porterville, Calif., to William Johannes and Elizabeth (Van Houeling) Wagner. He was raised in the Oskaloosa/Pella area, and lived in Des Moines prior to Dallas Center.
On Sept. 7, 1944, he married Jeanne Elizabeth Wilkinson in Oskaloosa.
William Wagner worked as an architect for Whetheral, Harrison and Wagner, and was self-employed in later years.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center, and was also a member of the Dallas County Historical Society and Iowa State Historical Society, and had a passion for restoration of Iowa historical landmarks.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Hoffman of Shoboygan, Wisc., and Susan Shaw of Calmar, and a brother, Henry Wagner of Fla.; as well as eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
William "Bill" Wagner was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanne Wagner; his daughter, Debbie Williams and his grandson, Ted Shaw.
