Andrew Hill died Thursday, March 24, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. K. J. Palm, south of Arthur. Mr. Hill had been troubled with heart failure at times during the past six years and two weeks ago had a bad attack. There was a recurrence on Wednesday, but Thursday morning he felt better. Shortly before two o' clock he asked his daughter for a drink of water and when she returned, she found him in a dying condition.

Mr. Hill was born in Orebro, Sweden, July 21, 1845 and had therefore attained an age of 75 years, 8 months and 2 days. He came to America in 1873, settling in Pennsylvania, remained there a year and then came to Cherokee county, Iowa, where he married Sarah Mattis, June 26, 1875. Later they moved to Denison, Iowa, where they lived three years. Then went to Omaha and later to Council Bluffs. In 1908, he and his wife came to Ida county and spent their declining days together in a little home on the K.J. Palm farm, where Mrs. Hill died six years ago.

Two children grew to maturity. Andrew A. Hill of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Palm. Mr. Hill is survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He has a brother and a sister in Sweden.

Mr. Hill belonged to the Arthur Baptist church and the pastor of that congregation, Rev. Mr. Anderson, had charge of the funeral services on Saturday. The remains were laid to rest in Hayes cemetery.
