Ernest E. Gustafson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gustafson, was born May 6, 1903 near Arthur, Iowa.
When he was a small child his parents and family moved to the Kiron area where he attended school and grew to manhood.

He was married to Miss Mabel Clauson June 2nd 1934 at Kiron, Iowa. They made their home on a farm near Kiron and to this union were born four children, Dennis, Glenn, Nancy and Nelda.
Ernest was taken ill on September 8, and entered the Crawford County Memorial Hospital and was transferred to the Clarkson Hospital at Omaha on September 10th. He passed away following major surgery on September 18th, 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister LaVerne.

He is survived by his wife Mabel, two sons, Dennis of Deloit, Glenn of Anderson, Indiana, two daughters, Nancy of Cokato, Minnesota and Nelda at home, one grandchild (Alan), two brothers, Vernal and Willard of Kiron, two sisters, Mamie, Mrs. Ernest Carlson of Albert City, Iowa and Florence, Mrs. Lloyd Johnson of Pomeroy. Many Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends. He was a faithful member of the Kiron Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Kiron Baptist church. Rev. A. Freeburg officiating. Wayne Lindskoog sang "Gods Word and Promise." Mrs. Ferne Wilson was at the piano.

Pallbearers were: Elmer Anderson, Emer Gustafson, Oscar Lindberg, Lowell Clauson, Robert Gustafson and Edwin Turin. (Ed.note: All were Dad's first cousins.)
Interment was in the Kiron Cemetery.
