ELMER GUSTAFSON 1903 - 1975

Elmer Fredolph Gustafson was born in Sac County on June 28, 1903 to John E. and Emma Carlson Gustafson. He lived in Sac County all of his life. Elmer made his home with his brother, Arvid, after his parents death. In November, 1971, he became a resident of Colonial Manors in Odebolt. March 31 he was taken to the Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove where he died April 14, 1975.

When a small child he became very III with a high favor causing a brain damage which prevented him from gaining an education. In spite of this he led a happy contented life and made many friends with those around him. He will be missed by his loved ones and the residents and staff at Colonial Manors.

He leaves to mourn his passing six brothers - Arvid, Richard and Russell of Kiron; Verne of Oakhurst, Calif.; Elving of Lemon, S.D.; Sidney of Grinnell; one sister Mildred Hoaglund of San Leandro, Calif., many friends and relatives.

Services were held at the Arthur Baptist Church April 17,1975 at 2 p.m. with Rev. LeRoy Carter and Rev. Carl Isaacson officiating. Mrs. Oscar Olson was organist. Mr. and Mrs. James Gustafson sang a duet "Love Devine" and James Gustafson sang "God Understands".

Burial was in the Hayes Township Cemetery with Emar and Rolland Gustafon, Vernon and Melvin Gustafson, Warren Carlson and John Fries pallbearers.
