Obituary of Dora Korner
Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Korner were held Monday, November 27, 1972, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig with the Rev. F. A. Wiese officiating. Mrs. Ray Schmidt was the organist. The congregation sang "I'm But a Stranger Here" and the choir sang "There is an Hour of Peaceful Rest".
Dora Wilhelmine, the daughter of William Kuehl and Wilhelmine nee Wiedemann, was born on October 15, 1904, in Morgan Township. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She grew up in this community, attending the local schools. She was joined in marriage to Harry Korner the 29th of October, 1924, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Schleswig. The couple farmed in the Schleswig community Mapleton, where they lived for 13 years. They moved back, to Schleswig in 1969. Mrs. Korner’s health had been failing the past year, and she died on Saturday, November 25, 1972, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital She attained to 68 years, 1 month and 10 days. She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church
She is survived by her husband Harry; two children, Willie of Odebolt and Wilhelmine, wife of Edward Edsen of Ida Grove; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothers Hans and Art of Schleswig and Julius, Sioux City; one sister, Belva Partridge of Marion, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by one brother William, who was killed in the Normandy invasion in July 1944.
Pallbearers were: Leon Edsen, Dale Edsen, Lynn Blume, Jim Spotts, Dennis Glerstorf and Dale Petersen.
Interment was in Morgan Cemetery.
