Miss Leona Hansman
On Tuesday, the sad tidings were heralded of the death of Miss Leona Hansman at the hospital at Denison. Some time ago she was operated on for appendicitis at Carroll, later being removed to Denison for treatment. Pneumonia set in and caused her death. Leona Hansman reached the age of 22 years, 6 months and 22 days. She was born and raised near West Side on her fathers farm. She was united with the German Evangelical church on Palm Sunday, 1904, and ever since, she has been a faithful member. She leaves to mourn her early departure, her mother and her father, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansman, two brothers, Carl and Henry, three sisters, Annie, Mrs. Ahrenkiel, Elizabeth, Mrs. Adam Luckhardt, besides a host of other relatives and friends. She and her sister, Elsie, were constant companions and were very much attached to each other. It will leave a vacant chair in the family, but may God's power console them. The funeral was held Friday at the German Evangelical church, with Rev. K. Rauth officiating and also a minister from Carnavon. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the West Side cemetery. Out of town people were: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schomberg, of McLeon, Nebr., Mrs. Bauer, of Corning, Mr. and Mrs. Ammon, of Carnavon.
