OBITUARY.

THOMPSON.

A telegram was received by Mrs. James Thompson Sunday morning announcing the death of Charles E. Thompson, at Charter Oak, Iowa, at 4:30 that morning. Mr. James Thompson was at Lincoln, Neb., when the news was received and the intelligence was wired him there. Mrs. Thompson and her son Harry, left Sunday night for Charter Oak.

Charles E. Thompson was born and raised in this city and was 37 years old. He was educated in Davenport public schools and entered business pursuits at an early age. He has been at Charter Oak for 12 years. He was married seven years ago to Miss Nellie Montgomery of Boone, Ia. They have no children. Mr. Thompson's death must have been sudden as he has always enjoyed good health. No arrangements have been made for the funeral, but it is supposed the body will be brought here for burial.
