DENISON, Iowa — Garnet Lorraine Friedrichsen, 84, of Denison died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfannebecker Funeral Home, Denison. Burial will be in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Friedrichsen was born Oct. 9, 1915 at Hayes Township, rural Ida County, the daughter of Henry and Rosina (Thiede) Brockman. She was educated at Schleswig High School.

She married Leroy Friedrichsen March 11, 1939 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. They farmed near Schleswig, which is where they raised their daughter. He died Oct. 12, 1981. The following year she moved into Schleswig. In 1999 she moved back to the farm to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law. Due to failing health, she entered Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, in June 2000, and then in July, moved into Eventide Lutheran Home.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Schleswig. She attended senior citizen functions where she enjoyed visiting and dancing. She also enjoyed her many card clubs.

Survivors include a daughter, Eileen Streck and her husband, Marvin of Schleswig; three grandchildren, Sonya Sherrill, Ryan Streck and Brent Streck; and two great-grandchildren.
