BATTLE CREEK, -Iowa — Marcia Fay Laumbach, 43, of Battle Creek died Saturday, April 29, 2000 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek, with the Rev. Benjamin Ray officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig, Iowa.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Battle Creek.

Mrs. Laumbach was born Feb. 14, 1957, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Milroy and Anna (Thomsen) Ernst. She was baptized and confirmed at United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa.

She graduated from Schleswig High School in 1975. She married Douglas Laumbach on Nov. 10, 1976 in Monette, Mo.

The couple lived in Monette before returning to Schleswig. In 1978, they made their home in Battle Creek.

She was employed as a cashier with Cronk's Restaurant in Denison and later worked at Battle Creek Elementary School and Willow Dale Nursing Home. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, crafts and plants.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Charissa, both of Battle Creek; two sisters, Kandra and her husband, James Neumann, of Kiron, Iowa, and Rhonda and her husband, James Steuk, of Schleswig; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
