KIRON, Iowa — Helen M. Johnson, 70, of Hanover Park, Ill., formerly of Kiron, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at her residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove, Iowa, with the Rev. James Schubring officiating. Burial will be in Hayes Township Cemetery, Arthur, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will resume 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Thor, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Cora Belle (Swisher) Ramsden.

She married Conwell W. Johnson, Ph.D., on April 14, 1950, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She studied music at the University of Minnesota. She later taught piano lessons at her home. She also served as church organist for 20 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Torricelli of Hanover Park; a granddaughter, Emily Torricelli; and two brothers, Wesley Ramsden and his wife, Dorothy of Green Bay, Wis., and Richard Ramsden of Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
