Flora Belle Gollhofer died April 23, 1970 at the Onawa hospital, after a brief illness.

Flora was born May 2. 1885 at Vail, Iowa, the daughter of Adam and Lucia Hoffard. With her parents, she moved, at an early age to the Charter Oak area.

On January 6, 1909, at Denison, Iowa, she was united in marriage to August Gollhofer. They farmed in the Charter Oak community until 1937, when they retired and moved to Charter Oak. To this union was born two daughters and two sons.

Mrs. Gollhofer was baptized in the Methodist faith and was a loyal supporter of the Church and the Women's Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Lillian) Schmidt, Soldier, Mrs. Earl (Pearl) Dahl, Onawa, two sons, Charles and Earl of Charter Oak; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the United Methodist Church in Charter Oak. Iowa, Monday, April 27, 1970, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. E. Buccelli officiating. Pall bearers were Robert Bohnker, Donald Hopp, Arnold Schmidt, Robert Butler, Vernon Larson, Roy Schrader. Burial was at the Charter Oak Cemetery, Charter Oak, Iowa.
