Funeral services and burial for Philip Vernon Wenzel were in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Philip Vernon Wenzel was born January 25, 1922 at Manning, Iowa to Edmund and Matilda Schultz. He was adopted as an infant by his uncle and aunt Helmuth and Frieda Wenzel. He married Evelyn Gessmann May 23, 1943 at Manilla, Iowa and resided in the Mountain Home area since 1992 moving from Westside, Iowa. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Philip Vernon Wenzel entered into eternal rest on October 3, 2007 at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 8 days. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, adoptive parents, one daughter, Sandra Derby, four brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by: Wife – Evelyn Wenzel of Mountain Home. Two sons – Philip C. Wenzel and his wife Darlene of Summer, Washington, and Paul Wenzel and his wife Cathy of Pinson, Alabama. Two daughters – Susan Nixon and her husband David of Bull Shoals and Sylvia Uhl and her husband Larry of Merrill, Iowa; one son-in-law – John Debry of Sioux City, Iowa ;ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Missions or the Lutheran Hour.

Funeral: Funeral service 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Ken Taglauer officiating.

Burial: Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
