Louise Anna (Wendt) Andresen was born July 25, 1915 the daughter of Henry and Marie (Jetter) Wendt. She peacefully passed away at the Eventide Lutheran Home Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the age of 92. Louise was born in Hanover Township, Iowa and received her education near her home.

She was baptized in Christ September 19th, 1915, and was later confirmed on April 2nd, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison.

On June 19th, 1940 was united in marriage to William John Andresen at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple lived on a farm for a few years, later making their home in Denison, where they were blessed with the birth of 2 sons. Through the years, Louise worked at the Denison Hotel, and Watje's Café. Once her first son was born, she remained at home to raise her children. In addition to taking care of her family, she spent much of her time gardening both flowers and vegetables, reading magazines, and sewing. She made many of her own clothes and also would alter clothing she would purchase to make it her own. She enjoyed taking long walks, and would even walk from Eventide Lutheran Home to Walmart to shop. In her spare time, she enjoyed helping serve meals at the Crawford County Senior Center.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, and their Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill in 1982; her son, Darrell; and her sister, Caroline Andresen and her husband, Walter.

She is survived by her son, Dale and his wife, Annmarie of Port Charlotte, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Judy Andresen of Burleson, Texas; 2 grandsons, Scott and John Andresen, both of Burleson, Texas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Rev. Kurt Kaiser and Rev. David Sewing officiated the services and grave side rites held at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Organist Karen Kahl provided accompaniment for the congregational hymns "How Great Thou Art," "I The Lord of Sea and Sky," and "Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound." Those serving as pallbearers were Andrea Huebner Boyer, Milfred Nemitz, Keith Duncan, Charles Dreibelbis, Walter Huebner and Dennis Huebner. The family invited everyone in attendance to join them for fellowship and lunch served by the Ladies Aid. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.
