Rosella Bertha Schultz was born on March 7, 1910, the daughter of Herman and Charlott Henrichson Obman. She died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison at the age of ninety-six.

Rosella was born on a farm near Breda, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ on July 10, 1910 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, Iowa and later confirmed there on April 5, 1925. She received her education in a rural school near her home. She was the oldest daughter and since her mother was handicapped, Rosella helped to raise her siblings and care for her mother.

On February 10, 1931, Rosella was united in marriage to Raymond W. Schultz at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. The couple made their home on a farm south of Odebolt until retiring and moving to Odebolt. In November of 2002, Rosella moved to the Reed House in Denison and later to the Eventide Lutheran Home.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denison and former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Odebolt and Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. She was a lifetime member of Trinity's Ladies Aid. Rosella enjoyed reading, vegetable and flower gardening and canning. She lived a simple life, and enjoyed family gatherings and friends.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Becky Lynn Schroeder; four brothers, Clarence, Ferd, John and Harold Obman; and two sisters, Leona Halboth and Esther Dezell. Survivors include three daughters, Audrey Schroeder and her husband, Lorne of Rogers, Arkansas; Marilyn Anderson and her husband, Jack of Beverly Hills, Florida; and Carole Schultz and her husband, Loren of Denison; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Rev. David Loeschen officiated the services and grave side rites held at the Odebolt Cemetery in Odebolt, Iowa. Organist Mary Kuhlmann provided the organ accompaniment for the congregational hymns, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," "How Great Thou Art," and "I'm But A Stranger Here." Those serving as pallbearers were Daniel Schroeder, Brent Schroeder, Ryan Schultz, Bruce Dorr, Brian Schroeder, Robert Barrath, Rick Saunders, and David Dorr. The family invited everyone in attendance to join them in fellowship and lunch served by the Women's Guild. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.
