Lawrence Hildreth

Lawrence Edmund Hildreth, 69, of Clinton, died Thursday at Mercy North Hospital, Clinton.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Dan Schadt officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Following the services his body will be cremated.

Pallbearers will be Joe Rychtarik, Joe Detterman, Dave Determann, Dale Dalton, Aaron Schneider, Walter Metzger, Joe Cavanaugh, Tom Tucker, Leigh Goff and Al Luckritz.

He was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Clinton to Lawrence and Anna Heng Hildreth. He married Joyce Detterman on Dec. 28, 1963, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clinton.

He was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School.

He was employed with the Curtis Co. and worked as the executive secretary for Foley Construction for 27 years. He also worked with Johnson’s Metal Craft before retiring in 1990. In 1990, he and his wife purchased O’Leary’s Old Irish Pub and operated it until a fire destroyed it in January 1998.

He was a member of the Clinton Builders Club, the Clinton Lions Club and the Elks.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Amy (Shawn) Luckritz of Clinton; one son, William Hildreth of Wisconsin; three grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Agnita Detterman of Clinton.

The family requests memorials be made to the family or the Clinton Humane Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
