Viola Yenney

Viola A. “Dolly” Yenney, 93, formerly of Savanna and Mount Carroll, Ill., died Friday at Morgan Memorial Home, Stockton, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll, with the Rev. Robert Schubert officiating. Burial will be at Center Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Minerva to David K. and Pina Davis Ewalt. She married George Yenney on Jan. 25, 1928, at the Carroll County Courthouse in Mount Carroll.

She worked at the Savanna Army Depot, Burgess Battery Factory in Freeport, Ill., and Atwoods Manufacturing in Mount Carroll, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty E. Miller of Clinton, Viola (Don) Zink of Mount Carroll and Georgia (Allen) Tripp of Sterling, Ill.; one son, Mernice “Sonny” (Marilyn) Yenney of Mount Carroll, Illinois; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Pet Welfare of Savanna or the Morgan Memorial Home, Stockton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons, a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, four brothers, two sisters, 20 half-brothers and sisters and one grandchild.
