ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Mary G. McGinnis, 91 formerly of Rock Island, died Monday at the Briarwood Care Center, Maquoketa.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Presbyterian Church, 801 16th St., Moline, Ill. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd., 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Ill.
She was born July 26, 1914, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Charles and Clara Lang Plummer. She married Donald W. McGinnis on April 10, 1937, in Virginia, Ill. He died in 2000.
Prior to her marriage, she was a registered nurse and was later employed as a dental assistant with Dr. Wayne Gilliam for 15 years before retiring in 1976.
She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline, where she was a former deacon and member of the Dorcas Circle and the Homemakers class. She also was a member of the Auxiliary Club of the former Francescan Hospital.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Diana (Dale) Petersen of Miles; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church or the Briarwood Care Center.
