W. Dean Palmer

AMES — W. Dean Palmer, 68, of Ames and formerly of Maquoketa, died Sunday at The Abbington on Grand, Ames.

There will be a celebration of his life at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carson and Son Funeral And Cremation Services, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin.

He was born April 12, 1937, in Maquoketa to William and Gertrude Oltmann Palmer.

He was a 1956 graduate of Monmouth High School.

He lived at the Andrew-Jackson Care Center, Clarinda, and for the past two years in Ames.

Survivors include two brothers, Richard (Mary) Palmer of Schertz, Texas, and Gerald (Judy) Palmer of Bettendorf; and several nieces and nephews.
