MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Lawrence W. Mummert, 87, of Lanark, Ill., died Wednesday at his home.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of God in Mt. Carroll, Ill., with Pastor Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery, Lanark. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Church of God.
He was born Aug. 2, 1918, in Lanark, to Wally and Augusta Orth Mummert. He married Margie Guenzler on Sept. 1, 1946, in Mount. Carroll.
He worked on the family farm for more than 50 years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include wife; brother in-law Charles (Betty) Guenzler of rural Mount Carroll; and one niece.
Memorials may be made to the family.
He was preceded in death by one son.
