CLINTON — Marvel D. Bartels 85, of Clinton, died Sunday at the Harmony House, Mercy South Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lemke Funeral Homes, North Chapel, 2304 N. Second St. The Rev. Walter Behrens will be officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Neil and Nathan Vining, Dean and Tim Bartels, Alex Veith, Gary Frahm and Tom Bartels. Burial will follow in the Elvira Cemetery.
She was born July 31, 1920, in Clinton to James and Helen Holm Sloppy. She married Donald Bartels on Aug. 11, 1952, in Dubuque.
She and her husband operated Don’s Jewelry for more than 46 years.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Daniel (Sheralyn); two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Marilyn (Don) Enwright of Clinton; and two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Memorials will be established.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
